  14. I usually would not do this, but I feel I must warn anyone thinking of doing

  17. A good while back Fred Posted an A3640 card sans cpu for sale.. I wanted an 
  18. extra one, so we agreed on a price ($200) the board was DOA.. UPS denied any
  19. shipping damage, and I was out the $200.. Fred said he didn't have any money
  20. and couldn't "afford" to refund my $200.. he claimed the board was working
  21. when it was shipped.. I agreed to let Fred give me a 50% Refund $100 so that
  22. he and I would each share in the loss (that was supposedly UPS's Fault)..

  24. Fred actually did get the broken board back from UPS, and re-send it to me
  25. so I could see if I could possibly get it fixed.. He sent one Partial Payment
  26. check of $25 for the, 50% or $100 refund we had agreed on..

  28. When I got the tech guy to check out the card, he found a blown component on
  29. the board.. The tech said ir was "possible" that this could have gone bad in
  30. transit, but said that it was very un-likely..

  32. Fred has posted several minor Items for sale since, and on each occasion I
  33. have asked if he was going to send the other $75 he still owed me.. On each
  34. occasion he has said he would send it, and has not..

  36. I have no way of "knowing", but find it interesting that the system he is
  37. now selling has a "Brand New Commodore 040 Processor".. Looks suspiciously 
  38. like the one he was using broke, then he sold it to me knowing it did not 
  39. work, and bought a new one..

  41. I would strongly advice against doing any business with him.. Especially if
  42. you can not afford the loss, or the time to pursue some remedy.. A couple 
  43. hundred dollar loss for me or my biz, is no big deal.. but for a lot of folks
  44. out there $2400 is a bit of money..

  46. In Any event He is definitely NOT a Man of his word, and you should deal with
  47. him accordingly..
